Scope of the Position Seeking 4 new Senior Buyers for the following direct materials commodities 1. Bearings, Cables, Stampings 2. Outside Contracts 3. Stampings and Steel 4. Pistons & Forged Components $30-60 million spend No direct reports Open office environment Up to 10% travel Frequent collaboration with engineering and plant manufacturing Skills & Attributes Skills (Required) • Strong preference of Japanese OEM, Tier 1 or 2 experience Working knowledge of TPS fundamentals Minimum 5 years of experience Responsible for identifying suppliers For preparation for RFQ packages Ability to read and understand drawings and technical specifications Ability to analyze supplier total cost scenarios Ability to analyze supplier technical abilities as well as overall supplier profile Commodity specialist & Know the markets Strong understanding of cost breakdowns Ability to coordinate design change management Negotiating skill & Strong fundamentals/logic Ability to interact and communicate effectively with all Akebono internal departments • Ability to: Plan & Do & Check - Action • Skilled at root cause analysis Confident yet humble & Willing to learn Education/Certifications Bachelors Degree CPM is a plus Eligible candidates must be legally employable in the US We and our clients are Equal Opportunity Employers
