One of the largest CO2 flooding companies in the US, is seeking a highly motivated, results oriented Staff Acquisitions Engineer which will support our acquisitions team in purchasing additional assets. 

The successful candidate would be responsible for the following:

(1)   Be a lead player in an acquisition team which includes disciplines such as reservoir engineering, production geology,  production technology, reserve engineering, and economic analysis.

(2)   Lead geo-subsurface teams conducting studies pertaining to all aspects of CO2 flooding including petrophysics, production geology, reservoir engineering, and economics.

(3)   Responsible for staff mentoring in areas of subsurface technology.

(4)   Be a lead expert in purchasing reservoir assets for our group.

Educational Requirements (minimal requirements and any additional education or training that would be helpful)

–Bachelor’s Degree in Geosciences.

Job Requirements (specific experience, skills, knowledge, certifications, licenses, competencies, working conditions)

-       10 to 20+ years of experience as with the oil and gas industry, much of it gained in an operating environment

-       Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams to influence and deliver appropriate technical advice and solutions.

-       Ability to explore and apply lateral thinking/innovative approaches to problems.

-       All round skills and experienced required, from sub-surface technicalities to operations with a clear understanding of business drivers.  Ability to run commercial economic packages to evaluate various development scenarios.

-       Excellent communicator with the team, operations and other groups.

-       Able to work in a fast paced environment, frequently under pressure on multiple tasks.

-       Well developed interpersonal and presentation skills.

Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge (above the minimum requirements; not required, but advantageous in this position)

- Waterflood management and CO2 project experience is a major advantage.

- Significant experience in reservoir engineering for flooding processes.

- Knowledge of geological and reservoir engineering concepts specifically in a carbonate environment.

- Working knowledge of geo-economic software for acquisition purposes.  (i.e., Aeries, etc.)
