Job Responsibilities
Seeking a highly motivated, results oriented Subsurface Engineering Manager which will support our various Asset groups in West Texas which include SACROC, Yates, and Eastern Shelf.
The successful candidate would be responsible for the following:
(1) Managing the subsurface Houston group which includes disciplines such as geology, production geology, reservoir engineering, production technology, and reserve engineering.
(2) Lead subsurface teams conducting studies pertaining to all aspects of CO2 flooding including petrophysics, production geology, reservoir engineering, production technology and economics. This will also include acquisition team functions.
(3) Manage simulation engineers who are responsible for modeling all of the assets along with new business development acquisitions.
(4) Managing the Integrated Production Modeling of world class CO2 sources such as McElmo Dome.
(5) Responsible for staff development in areas of subsurface technology.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Geosciences.
Job Requirements
10 to 20+ years of experience as with the oil and gas industry, much of it gained in an operating environment
Ability to lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team to influence and deliver appropriate technical advice and solutions.
Ability to explore and apply lateral thinking/innovative approaches to problems.
All round skills and experienced required, from sub-surface technicalities to operations with a clear understanding of business drivers. Ability to run commercial economic packages to evaluate various development scenarios.
Excellent communicator with the team, operations and other groups.
- Able to work in a fast paced environment, frequently under pressure on multiple tasks.
Well developed interpersonal and presentation skills.
Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge
Waterflood management and CO2 project experience.
Knowledge of geological concepts specifically in a carbonate environment
