Public Relations – Corporate Communications Account Manager, NYC

Our client is a top-tier, award winning global independent public relations agency, known for innovation and long-standing relationships with both clients and staff.  The agency is expanding its New York City Corporate Practice, and actively seeks an Account Manager/Account Director at the five to eight year experience level to be the day-to-day leader for a million dollar plus account.  The person in this role will develop and deliver corporate communications strategies for client accounts, including both internal/employee and external communications, translate strategies effectively in team actions producing positive outcomes for the client and agency, manage, maintain and grow client relationships as well as network of high-profile media and key influencer relationships.  In addition, the person will be tasked to manage the work of account staff in developing and implementing campaigns that ensure client satisfaction and achievement of business objectives, personally deliver positive outcomes with strategic, top-tier influencers including securing strong business/financial media coverage, identify and pursue client-expansion opportunities, and manage, motivate and help to develop account staff.  

Qualified candidates will have a minimum 5 years’ experience (7-8 years preferred) in corporate communications, internal communications and/or public relations in an agency setting, minimum 2 years’ experience managing a client relationship, minimum 2 years’ experience managing account teams. A demonstrated experience working with Corporate Communications clients as a trusted advisor, demonstrated experience in internal communications, employee engagement and/or change management, corporate positioning, and top-tier media relations, demonstrated experience in management and execution of significant campaigns and/or major launch announcements, including development of communication plans, launch strategies, issues management, product and/or issue positioning, pitching stories, negotiation, and budget accountability and demonstrated experience expanding existing client relationships also required. Ability to work with clients and teams across various geographic locations with minimum supervision, strong judgment proficiency with digital/social media tools and business applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Lync/Office Communicator, PowerPoint and SharePoint) are needed, and international work experience a plus.  Salary range to $100,000.
