Primary purpose:
• The Project Manager/Engineer provides structure and coordinates various bulk material handling conveyor projects. The Manager must have extensive experience and work history in the field of bulk material handling conveying systems.
• A majority of the time the Manager manages/supervises ongoing projects. The Manager reports to the Engineering Manager and interacts/interfaces frequently with Marketing, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Finance and Accounting. The Manager is responsible for all facets of the project assigned including but not limited to: design, purchasing, scheduling, budgeting, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction in accordance with Company capabilities and goals. The overall goals and orientation of the Manager but not limited to, include the oversight that projects are completed on time, within budget, in compliance with engineering standards and are a quality product.
• The Manager directs, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects within the area of assigned responsibility by performing the following duties personally or through various department supervisors.

• Responsible for directing and coordinating all activities related to an assigned project to its successful completion.
• Plans, formulates and organizes all activities according to project requirements.
• Responsible for satisfying design requirements mechanically, operationally and structurally, as dictated by the specification, sale proposal, schedule, and budget in coordination with the Design Manager.
• Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
• Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
• Oversees and approves integration of technical activities and products.
• Evaluates and approves engineering, design changes, specifications, and drawing releases to assure all work is in compliance with project requirements and that quality work is acceptable.
• Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget.
• Prepares interim and completion project reports, schedules, and budgets.
• Responsible for communicating and informing Engineering Manager on work schedules, scheduling problems, project feasibility, cost and performance.
• Participates with Sales and Estimating in formulating goals and objectives for the Company.
• Evaluates and resolves existing site safety and/or operational problems.
• Performs engineering design as required for various engineering projects and terminal needs.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers to help their technical and professional development
Position Requirements
Education:
• BSCE (structural based) and 5 years experience in conveyor design, and manufacturing.
Experience / specific knowledge:
• Skills required are but not limited to: design, detail and check materials handling project and ability to handle complex engineering/design operations.
• Knowledge and experience in computer usage including Excel, AutoCAD, STAAD, Word Processing and knowledge/understanding AISC, ASME, CEMA, AWS, OSHA, MSHA, NFPA and practices required by federal and state regulations and requirements.
• Must be able to understand the needs of the business unit(s) for which development work is being performed.
• Must possess understanding of bulk handling operations/equipment.
• Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes.
• Ability to organize and prioritize daily work, including tracking and managing small projects and see projects to completion while maintaining strict confidentiality (as necessary)
• Must be able to successfully and simultaneously manage multiple tasks, and work with minimal direct supervision.
• Possess general understanding of how corporate policies, procedures, practices and processes relate to the Petcoke business segment and associated business units.
• Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), high degree of attention to details, follow work rules, and adhere to established work schedules.
• Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge/understanding of bulk materials handling.
• Must have the ability to communicate this knowledge/understanding. Must be able to present and communicate technical information to a wide variety of customers
Certifications, licenses, registrations:
• The Manager should posses the ability to obtain and maintain Professional Engineer (STRUCTURAL) license/certification and/or be in final stages of obtaining a PE.
• Must obtain and/or meet all requirements to enter foreign trade zones; such as back ground checks by both the U.S. Coast Guard and the Department of Homeland Security i.e. obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Card, TWIC
• Must pass and complete safety training /certification as required by customers to work in their facilities.
• Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and have willingness to use personal and/or company vehicle in the course of employment must pass and complete any required specific safety training as may be required by customers and as required.
