Essential Duties And Responsibilities include the following.
Troubleshoots control system control problems; implements software and hardware solutions to resolve problems. Troubleshooting may occur in the field or from remote terminals.
Reviews and specifies instrumentation such as control valves, temperature transmitters, flow meters, gauges. Generates instrument datasheets via spreadsheet and database manipulation.
Understands and assesses client problems and determines appropriate means of solution
Supports Engineering services on engineering analysis, walk downs, design, development and generation of design output documents including but not limited to: Control Logics; Shutdown Keys; Loop Diagrams; Instrument Indices; Setpoint Lists; Instrument and Control Valve Specifications; DCS and PLC Design; Instrument Location and Installation Design; Panel Layouts; and Vendor Document Review.
Performs Control System Factory Acceptance Tests with Clients and client-designated representatives.
Performs field loop checks.
Qualifications
Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology; or 5 years experience specifying and applying instrumentation and control equipment in power plants, chemical process facilities, petroleum refineries or wastewater treatment plants, minimum of 3 years experience commissioning DCS, PLC or SCADA Control Systems.
Ability to travel in support of domestic and international trips; anticipated travel 40%.
Ability to support work at remote construction sites: ability to access equipment via ladders & stairs, lift 30 lbs wear and use Personal Protective Equipment
Desired
3 years of experience as Programmable Logic Controller programmer.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Minimum of 1 year of experience design and commissioning Foundation Field Bus or Hart Protocol Networks.
Training in Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures preferred.
