Description:
The position is responsible for providing hands-on support for all network devices such as LANS, WANS, firewalls and routers. Activities include monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting all network equipment. Additionally, direct support to the user involves analyzing the technical needs of the lines of business, evaluating the available technology, recommending a technology that ensures corporate wide integration and implementing the technology of choice. Decisions affect the success of smaller projects or significant portions of larger projects and have impact on image, schedules, customer satisfaction, and financial performance. The Senior Network Engineer has significant independent decision making responsibility and accountability, and may have leadership responsibilities on smaller projects.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting LAN and WAN equipment.
- Responsible for networking portion of new projects including project plans and working with overall team.
- Analyze LAN and WAN requirements and work with team to implement necessary changes to improve network performance
- Provide technical support for PC environments; respond to users´ problem calls.
- Provide requirements analysis and develop system specifications or recommend personal computer configurations as a result of the needs assessment. In addition, ensure hardware/software compatibility.
- Defines, recommends, and implements related hardware/software projects which could involve major enhancements and/or new technologies
- May lead smaller teams.
- Contributes to project planning activities.
- Understands and efficiently executes and improves department processes and procedures.
- Responsible for accurate and thorough documentation of procedures and practices in the networking area.
Position Requirements:
- Must have 5-7 years of networking experience
- Experience with VMware – datacenter and desktop products
- Experience with MS Exchange
- Must be able to articulate a strategy, plan and implement changes to improve overall network architecture
- Have good technical understanding of network configurations and have the ability to transfer that knowledge to the rest of the team,
- Understanding of how to analyze/perform Performance Tuning in both LAN and WAN scenarios.
- Ability to translate Technical Requirements and Concepts into understandable Standards, Policies and Procedures
- Demonstrated communication, analytic and independent work planning skills
- Effectively uses teamwork skills to interact and collaborate on alternative approaches to hardware/software technical issues.

- Actively participates in defining and deciding department/team objectives that support the changing business needs.
Education: Four-year Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or a related discipline and/or 5 -7 years of relevant experience.
